Petting Zoo Policies
All you need to know about doing business with me.

Even though the Petting Zoo isn't a big corporation, it is my business, and I have some policies that I expect customers to follow if they want to shop here. These rules aren't set up to try to constrain you, they're just things I've found help things run smoothly around here, so everyone's orders can get out as quickly as possible. ^_^

I'm an honorable woman who sticks to her deals. Because of this, I really don't give any slack to people who try to get around the rules for their own gain. Please don't ask me to make an exception in my policy for you, because I won't. >_<


Reservation Policies

My availability is based on the spaces I have left in your delivery month.
If my chart says I'm booked this month, but have spaces in November, you do not need to wait until November to place the order. You can place an order at any time.

The absolute best way to check my availability is the Schedule Forum.
I update the Schedule Forum whenever there is a status change. Please do not ask me if I could send you an email whenever I have an update, it's just not realistic.

I do not have a waiting list, and I absolutely will not reserve a space for you without payment.
I don't play favorites. An open space will go to the first person who pays for it.

If I'm booked, I'm booked. No bribes, please.
This isn't only rude to me, it's rude to all my other customers. When you try to offer me more money to "squeeze" your order into month that is already booked, you're wasting your time, and insulting my Samurai Honor! >,<

If you place an order for a month that is already booked, I will return your payment.
If you are willing to have your wig done in an alternate month, please specify that with your order. Otherwise, I will simply return your payment.

If you pay by check or money order, make sure I still have space in the month you need before sending payment.
If I become booked for the month you requested while your payment is in the mail, I will determine whether or not your order was placed on time by the postmark on your envelope. I do compensate for 1 or 2 "late" orders in my schedule, but sometimes those slots get filled as well.


Payment Policies

All orders must be paid for in full, up front, before I will reserve a space for you.
What this means is, if you would like to reserve a space of time to make your wig or accessory, you will need to give me the full payment. I do not have a "payment plan". All payments must be made in full at the time you place your order.

Although I prefer payment in US Dollars, I can except a few other currencies through Paypal.
If for some reason you are unable to pay in USD, I can also accept Canadian Dollar, Euro, Pound Sterling, and Yen payments. This is through Paypal only. Checks or money orders must be in USD.


Communication Policies

If I receive 2 or more "is it done yet" or "status check" emails prior to your "need by" date, your order will be cancelled, and the raw materials and styling charge will be sent to you.
I'm dead serious about this. When I spend all my time answering email, I spend no time finishing wigs.

If you really need a status report on your wig, because you are trying to coordinate with the person doing your accessories and such, then email me. However, I do keep track of how many times you do this.

I understand how stressful it can be not knowing if parts of your costume will be done in time, and this includes wigs and accessories. So I really appreciate your patience while waiting for me to complete your design.

Please post your non-quote questions in the forums.
I check the forums several times a day, and there are plenty of other helpful people there. (Including my former apprentices!) So please, help out by posting your question in the forums instead of emailing me. ~_^

It is YOUR responsibility to provide accurate contact information.
If I cannot get a response from the email address you provide me, or if you give me an invalid email address, I will have no way to let you know that your wig is done, follow up on shipping, or to ask questions about your design preference. This is especially important for those of you with Character Wig orders, as I will only ship the finished wig to you with YOUR approval. If you do not respond when I send you the finished snapshots, you risk losing your wig. I will try multiple times to contact you, but if I do not receive a response after 30 days, your wig will be considered ABANDONED, and becomes my property to sell.


Refund Policies

My Money-Back Guarantee...
When your Character Wig is complete, I will send you pictures of it. At that time, you will be given the choice to authorize me to ship it, or to get a partial refund. The refund covers the "Materials Cost", which can be found in your original quote. This will be your only chance to request a refund. Once I ship the wig to you, no refunds will be allowed, even if you don't open the box.

If you request the refund, I will keep the wig, so that I can put it up for sale. For hygeine reasons, I won't sell used wigs.

Note: Due to the unique nature of the designs, Party Wigs and Accessory orders are not covered by my Money-Back Guarantee.

Modifications/Alterations
It is your responsibility to provide accurate reference pictures. If I send the pictures of the finished wig or accessory to you, and you notice a major descrepancy from the design that was not clearly shown in the reference pictures you sent me (for instance, if you sent no back or side shots of the character, so I couldn't see that they have a ponytail...), I will only be able to do the alterations if:

a. The change is possible without major reconstruction of the wig/accessory.

b. Time permits.

You will not be given a new guaranteed delivery date, since this will be an unscheduled job, and I will only be able to work on it between other wigs. The charge for modifications is $20/hour.

Refunds will not be offered on modified wigs, as you have had me put in more time than my estimated original styling fee covers. After the wig is sent to you, no further modifications will be allowed unless you need "repair work", which will be done at a rate of $20/hr.

Purchasing Service Orders
Orders for wigs or extensions placed through my International Purchasing Service are only refundable in full BEFORE the items have been ordered from the suppliers. After the items have been ordered, I will not be able to give ANY refunds.

My service fee is not refundable.

No returns.
Regardless of whether or not you've worn the wig or accessory, or used the wig supplies, I cannot accept any returns. This is California State Health Code talking here. I do not offer refunds on wig supplies, but will happily replace supply items damaged in transit with proof of damage.

Once an item has shipped, it is no longer my responsibility. If you want tracking on your order, it is your responsibility to upgrade to Express Mail. Items shipped by standard service do not include tracking, and I will not be able to give you the status of the package once it has left my hands.

I reserve the right to refuse service.
Do not make the mistake of thinking that I will not refuse payment or cancel your order if you harass me.

As odd as this may seem, I don't believe in "The customer is always right", because too many people think that means "The customer is superior". I believe that any business relationship should be a partnership, not slavery. You are paying me for my time and expertise, not for a license to threaten, harrass, or insult me.

If I cancel your order, your styling fee and raw materials will be sent to you. If I have already begun work, I will treat it as a partial refund, and only refund the materials and shipping cost.


Warranty Policies

Warranties may not be purchased for wigs that have already been shipped.
This is not because I intentionally use "bad craftsmanship" on wigs that do not have warranties. This is because I have no way of determining the current condition of a wig that is no longer in my possession.

If you do not purchase a warranty, and would like me to repair your wig, I will charge you for it.
My wigs are built to last with good care, but if something should happen to them, and you need repair work, it will done at the rate of $20/hr.
